Wondering if anyone out there even liked it. I think the Last Jedi was worse for me, but only by a little.January 28, 2020 at 7:25 am #19950AdrianaModeratorFUNKY KINGFUNK: 23,045Rank: Diamond-Back Gorilla
I liked it, but I watched it as if it was a standalone movie. I’m very far from a Star Wars connoisseur (haven’t even seen The Last Jedi yet).January 28, 2020 at 7:28 am #19954Kevin711ParticipantFUNK: 136Rank: Humble Squirrel Monkey
watching it as a stand alone movie? How did that work out for you? Were you able to follow the story easily?January 28, 2020 at 7:29 am #19956AdrianaModeratorFUNKY KINGFUNK: 23,045Rank: Diamond-Back Gorilla
Yep, I was quite surprised by that actually! Really enjoyed it.January 29, 2020 at 4:05 am #20756foxtatiParticipantFUNK: 2,129Rank: Wise Douc
I like the scene were all the rebels allies came in that gave me goose bumpsJanuary 29, 2020 at 7:32 pm #21049hidazipParticipantFUNK: 8,557Rank: Diamond-Back Gorilla
Still better than the prequels imo.
As a movie, to be honest, it wasn’t that bad.
My question is, why didn’t they make a backup of C-3PO before the boom, and what happened with Anakin’s force ghost.January 30, 2020 at 1:50 am #21140WaggishOhio383ParticipantFUNK: 4,494Rank: Psychic Gibbon
I definitely think it was better than The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. It had a good plot that actually felt like a Star Wars movie instead of a Disney movie. I like what they did with Kylo’s character arc, but I wish they hadn’t made him and Rey kiss right before he died. That part was stupid. It definitely corrected the mistakes of The Last Jedi. I don’t get why it got such bad reviews. I still think that Rogue One is the best Star Wars movie though. At least of the new ones. I know it’s an unpopular opinion, but I don’t care. It was a really good movie.April 25, 2022 at 9:43 pm #58911
Back to the original Star Wars, A New Hope, for the love of all things that are holy what does this man do?
April 25, 2022 at 10:01 pm #58912
One could imagine that there is a deflector shield as at the Rebel base on Hoth. That would mean enemy incoming from the surface beside the shield. Cameras could be used. infrared sensors too. These do not emit a signature like radar to be picked up by the enemy. But a watchman could too. Given that the forest would be full of creatures the life form sensors used on R2D2 and C3PO in the escape pod would be rendered useless. He should have some of those video binoculars though. The next question therefore would be, “For the love of all things that are holy, why does this man have a spear?” It may be he has a localised deflector shield around him and he may need to poke at it to ensure it’s on. I think my excuses for this ridiculous scene provide some semblance of credibility.April 25, 2022 at 10:09 pm #58913
