Recently, I’ve been replaying King’s Quest on my Xbox One and WOW, I forgot how much I love that game. The puzzles and story all have me enchanted. The dialogue, especially the ones you get from repeating an action repeatedly is entertaining. I love that even though Graham, the main character, grows older and wise still keeps his curious and quirky nature throughout the game. It’s hard not to like all the characters in the game, even the judgemental Hobblepots to the merchant, constantly scamming you out of your coins.
Your actions have consequences, for example, if you knock over the bee-hive while trying to get Starberries, Wente’s relationship with Bramble will be affected. In Chapter 2, you have to manage all your strength and energy and make sure the people you care about make it out alive, and not helping them will cause them to get pissed at you.
I would mention a scene that really broke my heart again while I was playing, but I don’t want to spoil it too much. Even though it is fairly old, I would definitely still recommend. It’s available on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC (Steam).
