Ahoy, reader boys and gals! Please fill these shelves with recommendations of your favourite books!
My recommendation is “The Pillars of the Earth” by Ken Follett.
An epic spanning decades in 1100’s England. It’s got monks, masons, knights, princes and peasants all living, loving, fighting, working, raping and killing each other. Intrigue and subterfuge aplenty. All the characters are believable, interesting and get into their own pickles of trouble.
Bonus fun bit of fate, I found the book at an antique store built in an old church, and the story itself centres around the building of a cathedral. How about that!
The Package, it’s a good book!
umm… I might be still writing it tho..
Pillars of Earth? Will check that out Sam.
My 3 fav series of books are rather old and hard to find.
Firstly “Dragon Lance” by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. Good old Dungeons and Dragon stuff. There are about 15 of so books in total but I think the first series of four books “Dragons of Autumn Twilight” through to “Dragons of Summer Day” are the best by far.
Second series of books for me is the “Spell Jammer” series. Again it’s Dungeons and Dragons based.
Lastly “Star Wars – The X-Wing Series” still available on the net today. If you like Star Wars they are a must, not the newer fluffy “Disney” Star Wars where Luke drinks from babies bottles but the old gritty original Star Wars where Han Solo shoots people under tables without warning.
Im not bitter about Disney in any way…. honestly 😛
diary of an 8-bit warrior!
I wish I could read books. It’s not like I can’t read, but I have dyslexia. I know how to read, but when reading a lot of text at once, like in a book, I just forget what I just read. Most things on the internet are in small pieces.
