Have you looked into using Linux Mint? It’s basically a laptop version of Linux with lots of software supported. It can run proprietary drivers for Nvidia and AMD, and works very well.
For video editing (which, granted, I don’t do as my full-time job), I usually use Kdenlive. Granted, it is (as you said) uglier, and it probably doesn’t have all of Final Cut’s features, but it works.
One of the cool things about Linux, though, is that you can install Linux onto a flash drive and boot it onto any computer without modifying your hard disk. You can try out a distribution and see if you like it and if it works for you. If so, then great! If not, install a different version and try again!
Linux FTW!
There’s also davinci resolve which he seems to already have installed on this windows pc
Edit: Nevermind he addressed that in the video
You could take a look at this. https://www.gamingonlinux.com/articles/using-the-elgato-stream-deck-on-linux-just-got-a-whole-lot-easier-with-streamdeck-ui.15180/
I’m not sure how well it works, because i don’t have a streamdeck, but it seems promising
As a windows 10 user, I really want to upgrade to linux. Most of the programs I work just as good on linux as they do on windows, and for those that don’t I can just use WINE. The thing is I never fully get the motivation to install linux
