There were many days when Sam’s videos where the only thing that could make me laugh. He helped me when I was in a dark place, even though I was a stranger on the other side of the world.

He is a wonderful person, and it’s so tempting to complain and say that it’s unfair bad things like this happen to such good people, who use their talent to bring joy to others. But it would be too simplistic, no one really deserves to get a cancer diagnostic, and cancer doesn’t have a moral compass.

So we just need to stay positive. It’s very good he caught it early, and given that he is young, otherwise healthy, and that this type of cancer has one of the best recovery rates, he has all the chances to lead a long, healthy, and happy life.

And, if you’re even a tiny bit spiritually inclined, you’ll realise that he must benefit so much from all the positive thoughts and prayers of fans all over the world. You are loved, Sam

We had a dark mode trial period a while ago. See here. The website went back to the light theme because

the tweaks needed to fully optimise [dark mode were] a little too involved.

It might be back in the future though.

I’m not sure of any of these are viable options, but here are my thoughts.

If hosting it does not cost you any money, I’d say don’t shut it all down. Just leave it as it is, with a note saying that you will no longer update it/provide any support for it, as well as a means for people to contact you in case they want to take over.

If hosting it costs you money, maybe try to find an alternative, free solution so that the project remains accessible? Again with an email where people can get in touch if they want to host it and continue working on the project themselves.
