WWDC 2025 happened yesterday and with it comes some new features for Apple software.
Liquid Glass: A sleek, bubbly design update that will arrive for all of its devices, refreshing the way iOS users view iPhone, iPad, tvOS, watchOS, and more for the foreseeable future.
Phone App Layout Options: Freedom to change the layout of your phone app to prioritize how you live your life, a screening feature that has callers leave a message before a call goes through, and the ability to detect hold music.
watchOS Workout Buddy: Uses artificial intelligence to recognize your training load, workout history, and more to encourage physical activity.
iPadOS Windowing and Menu Bar: A new windowing system to allow users to engage in more natural multitasking. Users can also take advantage of a new customizable menu bar.
Translation Features Improved: Freedom to translate information from others on the fly.
visionOS Controller Support & Widgets: Widgets are one change that may sound small on the surface but actually have the potential to fundamentally change how the device is used. The AR headset will also benefit from new accessories, including support for the Logitech Muse pen and Sony’s PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers.
Game App: All of your mobile gaming needs will now be housed in a single gaming app. The new all-in-one gaming application aims to streamline gaming on iOS devices, allowing you to see how your friends game and even compete in challenges for both single-player and multiplayer games.
Most of the announcements revealed at WWDC 2025 are in the developer beta now, with a public beta set to follow sometime in July.
iOS 26 and Liquid Glass will launch for the public sometime this fall.
