Lava lamps

I’ve recently been given a Lava lamp (wait does a month ago count as recent? I guess so..) and so far my experience with it was fantastic. Only issue with my specific lamp is that there are a lot of bubbles forming in the wax, but they don’t really ruin the look that much, so I’ll give them a break this time.

Do you have a lava lamp (or a friend that has one)? What’s it like?

I had one years and years ago.

Loved the retro ambience it created. The only problem I had is the bulb blew ALL the time.

@bzerk86 Interesting… It hasn’t happened to me at all as it is brand new. Feels like it was a bit annoying to have that problem. What brand did you get?

But a friend had one, it blew up and made quite a mess.

Interesting… It never happened to me or anyone I know. I’ve heard that that can happen under some conditions, but I’ve never actually seen it yet. Going to search for that later

I’ve had one when I was younger. Me and my brother each got one for Christmas. Mine was red, and his was blue. I don’t remember what happened to them though…

That’s pretty neat! I got the one I currently have for Christmas too, and mine’s blue with green (as in the wax is green, and the background is blue).
