The leaderboard made this more of  a competition rather than a forum. While there might not be a lot of spam on here, it can result in a bunch of unwanted replies that add nothing to the conversation like just “lol” from people trying to get more funk.

Hi Bixby.Boi, I have approved your comment, of course you have the right to express your disagreement. But may I suggest you re-read POPE SAMTIME’s explanation for removing the leaderboard, as well as Gabs’ topic on the FUNK system? It wasn’t only a spam problem, there was a general tendency to post just to gain FUNK.

I totally agree with Adriana I apologize if I upset anyone.   I Just More wanted to see how much others care about the leaderboard. I have read Pope Samtimes Post Before Making the petition and I %100 Agree with him.   the only thing I disagree with him is it takes away a bit of fun from the website.

There’s absolutely no need to apologise. I partially agree with you as well, the leaderboard was –in the beginning at least — a very fun way of encouraging FUNKY MONKEYS to participate in the forums.

But many people abused the system, and because of the current technical limitations we could not ensure 100% fairness. So, in the end the leaderboard had more disadvantages than advantages, and it started to affect the overall quality of the forums. I’m sure the POPE will find other incentives soon, that will emphasise quality over quantity.

I don’t know if I like the change. I like that there will be less spam (me: starts sweating), but the website wouldn’t be as active and might slowly die out. I obviously don’t want that to happen, but it could.
