I think my next gpu is amd.
I built a gaming rig late last year and the RX 5700XT is a beast for me.
No dramas running anything at high FPS at ultra settings with a 1080p display.
I was impatient and bought the reference card, it can get toasty and loud at times but a little bit of software tweaking and it’s cooler and quite.
If I had more time I would have bought a partner card with a better cooler.
If you have a 4K monitor, I would recommend an Nvidia RTX card that supports DLSS, which drastically improves performance is supported games(Not that many yet but there will be more in the future). With DLSS on, you can run higher settings even on mid-range RTX cards like the 2070.
The Nvidia cards tend to perform better than AMD ones if you have higher resolution displays.
If you have a 1080p monitor, just get the one you can afford.
An RTX2060 or RX5700 should get you high performance with high settings.
Both manufacturers cards recently perform almost the same, and the power consumption isn’t that much of a difference these days, but the AMD cards are slightly cheaper for the same performance.
Never forget to upgrade the CPU to prevent bottlenecking.
For example, for an RTX2080 you will at least need a i7-8700 to get the best out of your card.
I got AMD so I say AMD,
BUT…
It gets hot after a while, I mean very hot- maybe cause I’m on laptop…
I think currently Nvidia is the most popular but AMD may strike like how it did on intel
amd I like the software more
It depends on your needs and your budget. I chose an AMD 5700 because it performs 17% better than the RTX 2060 and I also Hackintoshed my PC.
