If the website you’re using supports HTTPS, your ISP can only see the top level domain.
Example: if you’re going to https://funkytime.tv/sams-hot-buns/, the ISP can only see that you are connecting to funkytime.tv, they can’t actually see the /sams-hot-buns/ part.
They don’t actually protect you from hackers, even if you’re using open WiFi, they can only see the top level domain, as long as the website supports HTTPS which is on almost all modern websites, every iPhone app and every android app.
There are valid reasons for using a VPN, but many of the things youtubers say are just wrong
I don’t blame samtime or any other youtuber who takes sponsorships from VPNs, I blame the VPN complanies for giving the youtubers outdated or misleading information.
