Hey FUNKY MONKEYS!
The scientists at Banana Computers have partnered with FUNKY-TELCO to trial a new and exciting community feature on the website, FUNK CHAT!
FUNK CHAT allows new and exciting ways to chat with your FUNKY friends:, including:
- Instant messaging!
- Voice calling!
- Video calling!
- File sending!
HOW TO USE FUNK CHAT:
When logged in, you should notice a new “Chats” bar in the bottom right corner of the screen, give it a clickage (if it doesn’t show up right away, head over to the Forums page. Should definitely be visible there).
You’ll see 3 tabs in the FUNK CHAT pop up!
RECENT: Shows any recent conversations you’ve had on FUNK CHAT
CONTACTS: Shows a list of your friends to chat to (friends will show up after they’ve logged on with FUNK CHAT for the first time)
GROUPS: A list of available groups to join (PATRIOTS group is currently in private testing mode)
HELP TEST OUT THE FEATURES:
See if your friends are online, click their name to open a chat with them and try sending them an instant message, or maybe even a voice/video call if you like!
Want more friends? Go to the Groups tab and click the “Looking for Friends” group to join it. You can chat in the group, or click the “>” arrow next to the group’s name and select “View Members” to see people who can become friends with.
Click the 3-Dots at the top of the FUNK CHAT main pop up to see options to change your status, notification options and even play some games!!
A LOT OF POSSIBILITIES:
- FUNK CHAT could be used to call into future LIVE SHOWS
- We can create custom FUNKY call and notification sounds
- A mobile App version of FUNK CHAT is very possible

I can only chat with the people that appear on screen, I can’t just chat with any funkytime . Tv user.
FrLoEr pets, I think you can chat with anyone on funkytime.tv with this new system but in order for them to show up in your contacts so you can message them, they have to log onto the website for the first time since the update.

bugfeature currently under investigation is that the Contact list currently shows all users, rather than just users you’re friends with. So for now… we’re all friends! hahaSome bugs/things that annoy me:
Maybe try a less annying and less loud call sound
When two people try to call eachother at the same time it won’t notify the other person about it, and both people will just think the other person isn’t answering.
If you have multiple funkytime tabs you will continue to hear the call sound in those, even though you’ve answered the call
I couldn’t figure out how to invite people to my private group
Other than that pretty impressive having instant messages and VoIP on funkytime
I uploaded a 47MB file, maybe have a lower limit on file sizes because storing big files can get expensive. I also tried uploading a 263MB file but it didn’t work.
More bugs/things that annoy me:
It says “New Message(s)” in every funkytime tab even if you’re the one who sent the message even in the tab you sent the message in(if you change the tab). It can be annoying if you use many funkytime tabs at the same time like me.
I noticed was the message boxes flashing, quickly disapearing and reapearing. I think this is to check for new messages.
This is what I call innovation, but can Sam see what we say to people?
