This is a pretty straightforward one. When you get a reply to a forum post you created/subscribes to, you normally get a notification widget on the top right of the forums page mentioning your notifications and how you have gotten said reply.
The issue is that the icon that shows besides it isn’t displaying properly, and instead of showing an arrow (which does show up often), it just shows a small square (like when you type Ctrl+Enter in Notepad in Windows, for example) and not the icon it should.
If it matters, I’m currently using Chrome.
Also if there is any other info you need from me, feel free to ask.
Thanks, and good job on the website!January 7, 2020 at 11:58 am #17474
I KNOW IT! When the notification widget appears on the homepage, the icon appeared successfully for me (as an arrow), and when it appeared on the FORUMS, it appeared as that one square-shapeJanuary 8, 2020 at 12:09 am #17526AdrianaParticipantFUNKY KINGFUNK: 2,639Rank: Classy Baboon
Minor bug confirmed. The square-shape you mention appears in Chrome (maybe other browsers as well), on all the pages except HOME, PATRIOTS and MORE:
In Safari it’s just a circle with no arrow:
The arrow appears on the HOME, PATRIOTS and MORE pages in both Chrome and Safari:January 8, 2020 at 4:20 am #17537
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeird…. Must be something to do with how the icon is loaded in the HOME, PATRIOTS & MORE pages differing from how they load in the other pagesJanuary 8, 2020 at 5:06 am #17540
HUGE BREAKTHROUGH NUMBER TWO! I know nothing about CSS, but after investigating with the styles I turned off a box that made the Icon appear on the Forums page! Here is as follows:
1. Picture of the notification and the CSS Styles (content: “\f112” checked)
2. Picture of the proper notification icon and CSS Styles (content: “\f112” unchecked)
3. Picture of the Developer Tools console (chrome)
Also note that the box symbol can be replicated in the HOME page by turning off all content: “\f3e5” sytles and leaving just the content: “\f112” one.
Thank you, and I hope this helpsJanuary 8, 2020 at 6:42 am #17546AdrianaParticipantFUNKY KINGFUNK: 2,639Rank: Classy Baboon
You’re quite the detective :D. I had to approve your post, I think it was flagged for moderation for including 3 images (I suspect moderators can post multiple images, but participants cannot).January 8, 2020 at 6:52 am #17549
Thanks, and I think it got flagged because I posted the image from [REDACTED]. Maybe moderators can post links to any website as participants’ posts get flagged for mentioning outside websites. Quite a handy feature against spam, actually!January 8, 2020 at 10:39 pm #17584POPE SAMTIMEKeymasterFUNKY VIPFUNK: 9,474Rank: Diamond-Back Gorilla
